College Members in the Extra Program
The Executive Training for Research Application (EXTRA) program develops capacity and leadership to optimize the use of research evidence in managing Canadian healthcare organizations.
EXTRA gives health system managers across Canada the skills to better use research in their daily work, as a way to increase evidence-informed decision-making in the health system.
The College is very proud of its members who have been awarded EXTRA Fellowships.

Using Policy Levers to Improve Women's Health
"I have supported three fellows in previous cohorts of the EXTRA program and my organization benefited from the experience. As I approached developing a new organization it continued to be important to me that we do our work considering the available evidence as much as possible. The EXTRA program is a great support as I consider the evidence regarding the role policy plays in bringing about change. It is great to work with colleagues across the country as we continue our learning in this challenging and supportive environment."

Leadership Collaboration: Applying the Co-management Model for Evidence-Based Change
"The EXTRA/FORCES faculty, staff and fellows all contribute to making EXTRA a rich experience. EXTRA has helped to prepare fellows to manage, lead and validate change now and into the future. I would strongly encourage an organization facing change to sponsor key leaders in the EXTRA/FORCES program."

A Process to Promote Evidence-Informed Decision Making and Innovation for the South Health Campus
"EXTRA has been an excellent opportunity to improve our skills as leaders in applying evidence informed decision-making within our organization. The learning approach has allowed us the opportunity to apply the program's learning to the complex enviroments we work within and to better understand how the principles of the program work dynamically within an organization. The network of colleagues from across the country have been invaluable."
